Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. What an exciting time to be involved in education!
I am very honored and humbled to be the principal of Stewart Elementary. One of my greatest joys in life is to support children. I love facilitating and watching while students work hard to achieve their academic and life goals. I cannot think of a more rewarding experience! It has always been my vision that every stakeholder; teacher, parent/guardian, student, administrator pull together to help each child succeed. We have the opportunity of a lifetime to show our children what we can accomplish when we work as a team while facing challenges. Let’s do it!
This is my 11th year in Davis School District. I taught first and third grade in a Spanish immersion setting before going into administration. I graduated with bachelor’s degrees from Utah State University. During that time, I attended The Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, Chile. I then graduated from Weber State with a Master of Education degree. Finally, I attended the Educational Leadership program through Western Governor’s University.
Our school theme this year is Stewart Stars S.O.A.R. We believe every student has the potential to “soar” to new heights and become more capable individuals. S.O.A.R. stands for; safe, obedient, academically responsible, and respectful. This is the vocabulary that will be used as part of our schoolwide behavior plan and to help maximize student potential. When you come into our building you will see students making safe, obedient, academically responsible, and respectful decisions.
We are committed to focusing on learning first and helping every student succeed at Stewart Elementary. We look forward to having a cooperative and strong working relationship between educators, parents, and students to make this year successful.
Thank you for your continued support.
T.J. Naylor, Principal
