Welcome to Jennie P. Stewart Elementary!

The purpose of Jennie P. Stewart Elementary is to promote the mission of learning first for all. To accomplish our purpose, we work together as administrators, teachers, and parents, with our Community Council to ensure all students are highly engaged as they receive quality instruction from highly qualified teachers. Students achieve growth in all academic areas as each student works to attain proficiency in a safe, respectful environment, where they are taught to be responsible and in turn are successful.

Stewart Elementary’s highly qualified teachers provide an engaging learning environment for all students in every classroom. Parents and students have the opportunity to choose and design the enrichment areas of interest through counselor lessons, Chinese Immersion, Stewart Television System, Chess, Lego Mindstorms, VEX, Choir, Ukulele, the school play, STEAM focus, Project Lead the Way, the Beverly Taylor Sorensen Arts Learning Program, ALEKs or ST Math, and Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds.

It is my pleasure to serve the community of Jennie P. Stewart Elementary. I look forward to our associations and the great work we will embark upon as we continue the high standard of excellence Stewart offers our students. In 2016, I became the 8th principal to serve at Stewart Elementary since it’s opening in 1978. Prior to becoming an administrator, I served as an assistant principal, instructional literacy coach, adjunct professor, and classroom teacher. I am originally from Oklahoma and have two amazing children. In my spare time, I enjoy pretending to be a nature photographer. I believe that the success of a school depends on strong parent involvement, committed staff, and highly qualified teachers working together to accomplish a common goal. I look forward to my time serving this community with you.
